Queen Mary's Secret Tea

from £8.00

This is a blend which was created by Twinings for Queen Mary, allegedly in 1917. They continued blending it for 91 years, until 2007. Queen Mary was reputed to have kept this tea locked up in a cupboard, but the reality is that most people locked their tea up, as it was so expensive.

Many years ago, a couple came into our shop in Conwy, saying that he had been searching for many years for a tea which the Queen had apparently kept locked away. We did some research, including contacting Twinings, and came up with a blend of Keemun and Margaret’s Hope Darjeeling, blending it for this gentleman. He confirmed that it tasted the same, and it has been a popular blend at the shop since then.

We now make it with Keemun and Organic Darjeeling.
